Health EducationOne of the core functions of the Whitley County Health Department involves providing health education services to the community. This service may be provided in schools, factories, businesses, churches, senior citizen centers, and a multitude of other locations.
The Health Educator is able to provide education on all aspects of health including, but not limited to, physical activity, nutrition, hypertension, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, weight management, hygiene, coping skills, communication, tobacco cessation, substance use, HIV/STI, safety, and injury prevention.
The Health Educator can offer Lunch & Learns and guest speaker presentations, connect residents to community resources, help organizations set up exercise clubs and wellness programs, and more.
Programs and presentations can be developed to fit the needs of the requestor.
